Forte Belvedere has been reopened to the public on June 2 with the exhibition Ytalia, works by contemporary Italian artists.

The famous panoramic Renaissance fortress, which for years has been a privileged venue for exhibitions by contemporary artists, is in itself a work of art. This is partly because of its breath-taking location in the centre of Florence, and the beautiful setting that surrounds it.  It is usually closed, but when summer comes and the exhibitions open, the fort and the surrounding gardens are open for tourists and Florentines alike to enjoy. In fact, the city's inhabitants are the ones who love this magic place and come back when it reopens.

The 2017 exhibition, which is called Ytalia - Energia - Pensiero - Bellezza (Ytaly - Energy - Thought - Beauty) shows the works

of the best internationally acclaimed contemporary Italian artists, at Forte Belvedere as well as other major museums like The Uffizi Gallery, the Palazzo Vecchio Museum, the Boboli Gardens, the Opera di Santa Croce Museum, the Marino Marini Museum (closed in August), the Novecento Museum and Palazzo Pitti - with The Palatine Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art.

Compared to the past, when admission to the exhibitions was always free, this year the ticket is 3 euros. For residents of Florence and inhabitants of the Metropolitan City, a Forte Belvedere Card can be purchased for 2 euros, and is valid for the entire exhibition period.

The exhibition Ytalia - Energia - Pensiero - Bellezza (Ytaly - Energy - Thought - Beauty) runs from June 2 to October 1.

Entrance to Forte di Belvedere from Tuesday to Sunday 10:30 am-7:30 pm

The Forte Belvedere Card, available at the Forte di Belvedere ticket office, reserved for residents in the Metropolitan City of Florence, has a value of € 2 and when presented along with an identity document, entitles the visitor to unlimited access to Forte di Belvedere from June 2 to October 1, 2017.

By presenting a ticket for one of the Ytalia museum exhibitions, you are entitled to a discount on the entrance fee. The Forte Belvedere ticket entitles you to a discounted ticket for the Florentine Civic Museums (Palazzo Vecchio, Novecento Museum, Stefano Bardini Museum, Brancacci Chapel, Salvatore Romano Foundation).

All the exhibition venues are included in the Firenze Card circuit.

From July 18 to October 1 visitors can reach Forte di Belvedere with the special bus service called "FB"; departures are every 30 minutes from Piazza Pitti, from 10 am to 7pm, every day except on Monday. Bus FB can be used with the regular bus ticket.
