Teatro Niccolini welcomes visitors to the Great Duomo Museum. A film will prepare the viewers so that they can understand the genesis of the monuments in Piazza Duomo and the masterpieces located there.

battistero-internoAn introductory film for the Museum visit, the story of medieval Florence, the historical and cultural context in which the Duomo or Cathedral had its beginnings and took shape, explanations of the artistic and religious aspects in the monumental complex of Piazza Duomo and information on the recently renovated Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.

The new production, The Courage to Dare – A Cathedral, a city, a vision of greatness directed by Elisa Fuksas, shows the wonders of this piazza through a cinematographic language, by placing the Museum in a contemporary narrative context.

The “screening” of the film every thirty minutes in the historic theatre on Via Ricasoli, from 10 am to 5 pm continuously, Monday through Friday, is included in the Single Ticket (€15) of the Duomo Complex.

A tourist itinerary through the artistic and architectural treasures allows access to the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, Giotto's Bell Tower, Brunelleschi’s Cupola, the baptistery of San Giovanni and Santa Reparata.

But it is also possible to just watch the film, at a cost of 2 euros.
