You are allowed to take your pet on a public transport, including ATAF buses. Dogs owners have to follow general rules, for example, others’ health and safety, and collect dogs excrements, otherwise they will get fined.

Remember that dogs must be on a leash and wear a muzzle. If you will be using taxi services, you have to inform the company that you are travelling with a pet. In some cases they might refuse to pick you up.

What is more, it is strongly recommended to check your hotel regulations. You can find a list of places which are pets friendly at website section called “where to stay” (apply pets welcome filter).

It is worth mentioning that Florence city has designated dogs parks, which are fenced and majority of them have running water spots. The easiest way to find those green areas is to go on a website called Verde on Web and apply Area Cani (dogs’ area) filter.

Unfortunately, at the moment, pets are not allowed in any museums or churches. If you need a professional pet-sitter, there are plenty of companies and individuals offering their services, please, try to find the most suitable person on-line. You can start browsing on
