Is it cold and rainy? Choose a Ludoteca - a public playroom - where you can find many toys and meet many children.
There are public playrooms in every district of Florence, two of them are in the city centre:
- Il Fuligno , via Faenza 44 a
- Giamburrasca, via Palazzuolo 35
opened in the afternoon.
Try also the public library Le Oblate, in via dell'Oriuolo, not far from the Cathedral. On the ground floor of this fascinating building there is a special kid section with books in Italian and in the main European languages, electronic games, DVD players for watching films and so on.   Everything is free of charge.

A very beautiful public library is also in the neighbour town of Scandicci. Scandicci is only 15 minutes from Florence train station, it can be reached by tramway line T1.

You can find a brand new Public Library in Sesto Fiorentino as well, which is only 20 minutes by city bus nr. 28 from Florence central train station.

In the city center there is a special bookstore for children with beautiful books LIBRI LIBERI; the library has a puppet theatre and organizes street shows for children on Carnival time, Xmas time and Halloween.

Is the weather fine? Then select one of the city's public parks: you can decide which one in the dedicated page of this site.
If you won't give up with a visit to a museum we remind you that all children in Florence have free entrance into Italian State and Municipal Museums.
