A foundation, a museum, an exhibition: atop one of the beautiful hills overlooking the Arno stands Villa Bardino, dedicated entirely to Roberto Capucci, the renowned maestro of Italian and international fashion. From 14th January at the Museum of the Roberto Capucci Foundation, visitors can admire a new exhibition dedicated to the relationship between geometric volumes, fabric as ..
...a design material, and clothing construction. This is the spirit of the exhibition entitled Questione di Stile. Roberto Capucci Materia e Design (A Question of Style: Roberto Capucci, Material and Design). The suits created between 2008 and 2009 provide a clear demonstration of the technical execution of geometric forms on the design, with 23 pieces on show that highlight Capucci’s contribution to Italian design. One of the aims of the Capucci Foundation is to study the relationships between the various art forms, and in particular to establish a dialogue with the younger generation. In 2010 a number of study seminars and workshops will be conducted, and the new clothing exhibition underscores the relationship between material and design in Roberto Capucci’s research, focussing on the imprint and style that Capucci applies in his concept of design. In relation to the dialogue with young people, "A Question of Style" is the title of a series of events dedicated specifically to them. In addition, the on-line fashion and culture magazine IMORE includes a page conceived as a virtual place of direct dialogue between the younger generations and the maestro of Italian high fashion.
